If you are confused by what T&W have published on the 5 Year housing land supply then no need to worry as you are not alone.
Below is an extract from a letter issued to the Shropshire Star by one of our members which highlights the mess that T&W have made of the housing numbers and approval of the vast majority of housing applications for the past 30 months or so.
It is little comfort that SNC has repeatedly pointed out to T&W that they would end up with an over supply of approvals for housing but with elections now rapidly approaching, T&W have finally decided to admit the truth.
We are seeking clarifications as to how the statement and housing supply figures issued by T&W fit in with the production of the Local Plan, the first (and only) draft of which is to be issued for public consultation over the summer.
The extract from the letter :-
‘Telford & Wrekin Council now has the opportunity to not only say no to unwanted future housing developments on greenfield sites but also to revisit and reject those contentious planning applications which it has recently approved in outline but not yet given full planning permission such as the 400 houses on the two greenfield sites off Station Road Newport and other unwanted developments in surrounding villages, such as Tibberton, Edgmond and Lilleshall’.
