Brexit will have a profound impact on both agriculture and horticulture which together with other issues will mean that the industry faces many challenges over the next decade and beyond.
To help explain and unravel some of the issues and challenges the Newport Society will host NFU Shropshire chairman Andy Pillow, of Upton Magna and Richard Maddocks, chairman of the Newport Agricultural Society.
The speakers will provide an insight into modern agriculture, innovative sector technology, the need to produce more to feed a growing population, public support for home-grown great-tasting produce together with the opportunities and challenges of Brexit.
As progressive farmers at the centre of their respective sectors, they are well placed to speak about agriculture and the rural community – please come along and take this opportunity to learn much more about these issues on your doorstep and dinner-plate!
Newport Society (formerly Newport Civic Society) will be hosting the event which takes place on Tuesday 28th March 2017 at 7.30 pm in St Andrew’s Church Hall, Church Aston TF10 9JG.
Everyone is welcome to attend. A small charge is made to cover hall costs & refreshments; £1 members, £2 to non-members.
