Newport Society presents The Second Annual Newport Lecture – Mr Mark Pritchard MP

The Newport Society is hosting the Second Annual Newport Lecture, at which Mark Pritchard MP for the Wrekin, will give a talk on the subject of ‘What will Brexit mean for Shropshire’.
The talk will take place on Friday 21st October 2016, commencing at 7.30 pm at Newport Girls High School, Wellington Road, Newport TF10 7HL.
Everyone of all ages is invited to attend to hear the views on what is the topic of the moment but with an emphasis on the implications for Shropshire.
Admission is free. Refreshments will be available. Car parking is available on site.

“Mark has represented The Wrekin since 2005. He was re-elected for a third term in May 2015 with the largest majority in the history of The Wrekin’s parliamentary history.

He served as a UK Representative to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (2005-2010) and as a Member of the UK’s Joint National Security Strategy Committee (2010-2015).

He is now a Member of the Joint Human Rights Committee.

He is also a Member of the Speaker’s Panel – and chairs legislation through Parliament. Most recently he Chaired The Modern Slavery Bill through the House of Commons.

He is also a UK Representative to the Council of Europe. He sits on the Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons Committee. Very relevant at the moment!
