Telford & Wrekin Council is inviting land owners to submit sites which may be suitable for future development.
The Council has to identify a future supply of land which is suitable, available and achievable for economic development, housing and other uses, such as renewable energy leisure developments. It is the Council’s priority to identify land for employment development.
The Council will assess all site submissions, consider the location, potential constraints and uses on each site. To be included within the Call for Sites potential sites should be at least 0.25 hectares in size or capable of providing at least 5 homes. The Call for Sites does not guarantee that the Council will support or allocate the site for development.
This is a new exercise and will replace information gathered as part of the 2012 Call for Sites, land owners will have to re-submit sites for consideration. For information on how to submit a site, please visit: www.telford.gov.uk/callforsites The deadline for submissions is Summer 2020, a final date will be posted on the ‘Call for Sites’ webpage in due course.
The results will be published in the Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA) and provide an evidence base of potential sites to inform future planning policy work.
Telford & Wrekin Council has also published two documents on our website:
• A new Local Development Scheme (LDS): https://www.telford.gov.uk/lds this sets out the local planning authority’s timetable for preparing documents which form part of its Development Plans.
• A new Statement of Community Involvement (SCI): https://www.telford.gov.uk/sci this sets out how the council intends to engage with the local community in planning issues.
