The Telford & Wrekin Local Plan is the Development Plan for the Borough. It is central to delivering plan led growth and is the starting point for assessing planning applications. The existing Local Plan 2011-2031 was adopted in January 2018 and the Council is required to review the plan 5 years after its adoption. The council are now consulting on the draft Local Plan and proposed site allocations. The consultation ends on 12 January 2024.
Cllr Andrew Eade has kindly agreed to highlight some of the major areas of concern within the draft proposals both for businesses operating within Newport and its rural hinterland plus the proposed growth of housing numbers together with some wider concerns on a Local Plan which will run through to 2040 and will affect many areas of life for all who work or live in the borough.
